Baby V Neck Cardigan for Donation to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit RVH
Back
- Using 3.25mm needles cast on 39 sts and work 8 rows in 1 x 1 rib.
- Change to 4mm needles and working in st-st continue until back measures 8cm ending with a ws row.
Shape Raglans
- Case off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows - 35 sts
- Next row: K2,s1,K1,psso, knit to last 4 sts, K2tog,K2.
- Next row: purl 33
- Repeat last 2 rows 9 times - 15 sts
- Cast off rem 15 sts
Left Front
- Using 3.25mm needles case on 18 sts
- 1st row * K1, P1 rep from *to end
- Rep last row 7 times more, dec 1 st in centre of last row - 17 sts
- Next row: cast off 2sts, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog - 14 sts
- Next row: Purl
- Next row K2,s1,K1,psso, knit to end
- Next row: Purl - 13 sts
- Rep last two rows 7 times more at same time dec 1 st at front edge in 5th and every following 8th row - 4 sts
- Work 2 rows dec 1 st at raglan edge only as before in next row - 3 sts
- Next row K1, s1, K1 psso - 2 sts
- Next row P2tog
- Fasten off
Right Front
- Using 3.25mm needles cast on 18 sts
- 1st row *P21, K1 rep from * to end
- Rep last row 7 times more, dec 1st in centre of last row - 17 sts
- Change to 4mm needles and working in ST-ST cont until right front meadsures 8cm ending with a ws row
- Shape Front edge and Raglan
- Next row K2tog, knit to end
- Next row: cast off 2 sts, purl to end 14 sts
- Next row: Knit to last 4 sts K2tog, K2
- Next row: Purl 13 sts
- Rep to last two rows 7 times more at same time dec 1 st at front end in 5th and every foll 8th roqw - 4 sts
- Work 2 rows dec 1 st at raglan edge only as before in next row - 3 sts
- Next row K2tog, K1 - 2 sts
- Next row P2tog
- Fasten off
Sleeves x 2 (alike)
- Using 3.25mm needles cast on 29 sts and work 8 rows in 1 x 1 rib
- Change to 4mm needles and working in st-st work 9 rows in 1 st at each end of 3rd and every foll 6th row - 33 sts
- Cont without shaping until sleeve measures 8cm ending with a ws row
- Shape sleeve top
- Cast of 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows - 29sts
- Next row: K2, s1, K1, posso, knit to last 4 sts, K2tog, K2
- Next row: Purl 27 sts
- Rep last 2 rows 9 times more - 9 sts
Border
- Join raglan seams, With r/s facing using 3.25mm needles and commencing at lower edge of rib on right front pick up and knit 7 sts evenly along rib, 15 sts evenly along straight edge, 23 sts evenly along shaped edge 9 sts across cast off sts for right sleeve 15 sts across cast off sts at back of neck, 9 sts across cast off sts for Left sleeve - 23 sts evenly along shaped edge, 15 sts evenly along straight edge to rib and 7 sts evenly along rib 123 sts.
- Next row: Knit
- Commencing with 1st row of 1 x 1 rib, work 2 rows
- Next row: Rib 4, cast off 2 sts, rib 5 cast off 2 sts 2 times, rib to end
- Next row: Rib to to last 16 sts, cast on 2 sts rib 6, cast on 2sts 2 times, rib 4
- Work 3 rows in rib
- Cast off in rib.
To Complete
- Join side and sleeve seams, sew on buttons
Village Show: Rules and Conditions
- Except in floral art and young people’s section or where otherwise indicate, all exhibits must have been grown or made by the exhibitor.
- Amateur status only.
- Entries may be made on behalf of another person.
- The term ‘grown’ will be taken to mean, produced from seed, bulb, corm, slip or transplant and nurtured by the exhibitor for a least a period of 2 months prior to the date of the exhibition.
- A pot plant will be deemed to have been grown if acquired and nurtured by the exhibitor for two months.
- There will be a charge of 25p for each entry made in any class.
- The judge's decision will be final.
- All exhibits to be staged between 10am and and 12 noon. Judging will commence at 12 noon.
- No other person other than the judge and the committee appointee (required for administration purposes) shall be in the hall whilst judging takes place.
- Cards will be provided for each exhibit entered and the exhibitors are responsible for completing the card as required, where possible naming the variety of the item entered and staging the exhibit in the proper class.
- Children (under 12s) to put their age on the back and the front of the card.
- The Committee will take every precaution to ensure safe keeping of exhibits but neither the Committee, the Association nor the Church Authorities will accept any responsibility for the loss or damage to exhibits or be liable for any compensation in respect of exhibits or personal property, lost, damaged, stolen etc.
