Village Show: Rules and Conditions

  1. Except in floral art and young people’s section or where otherwise indicate, all exhibits must have been grown or made by the exhibitor.
  2. Amateur status only.
  3. Entries may be made on behalf of another person.
  4. The term ‘grown’ will be taken to mean, produced from seed, bulb, corm, slip or transplant and nurtured by the exhibitor for a least a period of 2 months prior to the date of the exhibition.
  5. A pot plant will be deemed to have been grown if acquired and nurtured by the exhibitor for two months.
  6. There will be a charge of 25p for each entry made in any class.
  7. The judge's decision will be final.
  8. All exhibits to be staged between 10am and and 12 noon. Judging will commence at 12 noon.
  9. No other person other than the judge and the committee appointee (required for administration purposes) shall be in the hall whilst judging takes place.
  10. Cards will be provided for each exhibit entered and the exhibitors are responsible for completing the card as required, where possible naming the variety of the item entered and staging the exhibit in the proper class.
  11. Children (under 12s) to put their age on the back and the front of the card.
  12. The Committee will take every precaution to ensure safe keeping of exhibits but neither the Committee, the Association nor the Church Authorities will accept any responsibility for the loss or damage to exhibits or be liable for any compensation in respect of exhibits or personal property, lost, damaged, stolen etc.
